Due to COVID-19, many consumers are skipping traditional July 4 fanfare and fireworks this year. As reported in our Monday Stat, only 76 percent of consumers plan to celebrate the holiday this year, down from 86 percent last year. Nevertheless, the National Retail Federation reports that “more than half of consumers (56 percent) expect to plan a cookout or BBQ,” in honor of the summer holiday.
